new ben, old ben, and you get the choice between Weapon Ben or Ben-verine
Well, there's the Ben who's been around the store, but is newer to 40k. And there's the Ben who showed up last week, but has clearly played before. So "new" and "old" is only going make it confusing. And, I hate to break the news suddenly, but my chops won't be around forever.

Chris, that's a very tough choice, but of those two I would prefer "That guy over there."

very well Ben, for simplicity's sake they shall now be known by their armys, i.e. "Tau Ben" or "Eldar Ben", you however shall be known as "Thursday Ben" for obvious reasons

Yeah, that could work.

If Thursday Ben gets shortened to TB, everyone will think I have the consumption. So let's not do that.  :)

I do not have tuberculosis, nor any other infectious disease. Except Warhammer, which seems to be rather catchy.

See what I did there?

I hope to get some practice games in tomorrow evening, now that I finally settled on a list. Who dares face down the Lord of Change?

Nids, Tau, whatever. I'll take on anyone (who shows up) anywhere (Plainville) any time (tomorrow evening).

but in all seriousness i think the doom is going to lose a lot of its potency without a pod. he has to basically close to 12 inch range to do anything, because firing the cataclysm at only 4 wounds is risky, and on average, the blast is only going to be S2, frightening, grots MAYBE. so that basically means people need to destroy 2 zoanthropes before they make it into assault. While he will still probably be awesome against assault armies, i can't see shooting armies having that much of a problem.

I would have to agree with Emory. Part of Doom's success I've seen comes from his ability to surprise the enemy and select his targets from the Spore. Drop in and ramp up. Instead moving him across the battlefield, gives the enemy an excellent chance to react appropriately.

yeah, the doom was typically a tactical nuclear DOOM, it popped out, sucked up everyone's souls, then dropped the cataclysm. Next turn it typically died, but it made its points back. Now though, with everyone meching up, he is eve losing his potency in that regard.

Oh I agree on the Doom completely, but it was a trade off for either have the anti-vehicle from the hive guard or the pod for the doom. I figure a large blast or two might help, and his advancing from with the army won't hurt as much when there aren't as many guns heading his way.
