Ben I think you and Me are the only people from Thursday 40k Playing.
Even if no one was playing, that doesn't diminish my speech in the slightest.

ETA: Well, there's my 500th post.

Well, Ard Boyz was certainly the strangest event I've been to yet. Of the Thursday 40k regulars, there was a great showing, as three took the Top 3 spots.

I finished 8th out of 14, one battlepoint shy of at least tying to get in the top half. I don't feel like that was really indicative of how I played. My Daemons massacred Grey Knights (and surprisingly, not vice versa) and I played to a draw against Wyatt's Space Wolves and even edged him out on battlepoints by 1. Wyatt finished 4th and was passed down an invitation to the semis. But that second match in which I ran into Imperial Guard, Fateweaver died far too quickly and a tabling followed, that was my day's downfall. Battle reports will follow in their own thread.

Yep! But it was great, and i had 3 great opponents, all fun games, and Simon kicked my ass... again. But I did get some good practice against grey knights, again with great opponents, and i got a free broadside out of it!

It was weird.  Ard Boyz Prelims are always stupid.  I wish they would run it differently.

1. Willem (Imperial Guard)
2. Emory (Tyranids)
3. Simon (Witch Hunters)

4. Wyatt (Space Wolves) Not a regular, just a result I remember.

8. Ben (Chaos Daemons)
I think Pat finished just behind me with his Space Marines.

Grey Knights were a shocking disappointment. 3 out of the 14 armies were GKs and they were all bottom-half. They had some highly preferable (on paper) match-ups too.

I imagine Chase will have the full results posted tomorrow. I imagine it, like as if it were a fanciful dream, too good to come true!

Ya I took 9th Without a Single win to my name :P. If I had an optimized list I possibly could have done better but for what its worth I pushed a good fight against all my opponents and learned a lot.

Well, anyone who missed the forum today has a bunch of catching up to do, so I'll keep this short.

Ard Boyz fatigue is among us, so there may be a smaller crowd this week. Don't let that discourage you or anyone from coming, just temper your expectations. Likely fewer playing options.

Setting up matches in advance here on the forum made things very smooth. I won't mind if that becomes habit!

I'll be there this week to help coordinate if it's needed, and aside doing hobby-related activities like painting and building.
