There was a really good vibe around the store, despite the post-Ravnica/pre-tournament blowout. We had 7 tables up and running, and there were multiple lengthy conversations about what's new and how to make lists better for 6th Edition. It was the type of night I would point to as one of the finer examples of Thursday 40k since we started almost two years ago.

Anyone looking for a fairly serious game tomorrow?  2000 pts?

I don't expect to play tomorrow night, but I will be there. Work this week is all like, "That box you moved, now move it over here. Move more boxes, and every other box." It's much more fun organizing walls full of Warhammer stuff. Besides, I liked last week just chatting about 6th. More talk, less action!

I'm a freakin' genius. More talk, less action again proved to be the formula for a winning night. We had 6 games, I believe. The best one was a 500 point game that ended with a Chaos Lord dying to a Force Weapon activation, from a Librarian who rolled double 1s and died himself to Perils. That's awesome 40k.

Space Wolves vs Necrons
Tau vs Necrons
IG vs Daemons
Chaos Space Marines vs Blood Angels
Grey Knights vs Dark Angels
Chaos Space Marines vs Space Marines

More importantly to me, we had a prospective player looking to join his friends in the fun and a player returning to the game, who also happens to know Bill and Hans. ("Those guys are terrible at the game, I would do the opposite of everything they say.") So yeah, it's just working out well for me, for the community, for the store, for the other people. Genius! MOAR TAWK.

Ben,

You need to find the cheesiest suit you can find and start a 40k talk show. Finding an old TV set from the 70s would be a good start. "Welcome to another installment of 40k Tawk with Beeeeen Booooooooooulangeeer."

I need to find a way to do a little bit more business so I can hire Ben.

I need to find a way to do a little bit more business so I can hire Ben.

Step 1: get a liquor license

Step 2: hire Ben as the "wise bartender who dispenses drinks AND advice"

Step 3: avoid serving minors

Step 4: profit

Whatever happened with your "snack license" or whatever Plainville calls it Chase? Dozens of 40k and magic players high on sugar wouldn't hurt your profit margins lol

Funny you should say that. I need to get a somewhat cheesy suit for Halloween... but not like game host cheesy. That's probably what you're looking for.

Also, I did take a bartending course years ago. I am SafeServ certified. Just sayin'. :)

So I might be joining in on the 40k festivities soon......not sure exactly when, but hopefully soon. What time do people show up at?

Things usually pick up around 6:30 - 7:00. There are some people who arrive earlier than that, but the room starts to pick up once players get out of work and get some food.

Hmm. I will have to make it a point to start swinging by in Nov. I have a good size Necron force ready to go.

Fall is upon us, and that's usually a quiet time in general. Just two games tonight.

IG vs Grey Knights
Daemons vs Daemons

Tyler brought his copy of Dust and ran demos for three of us. Pretty straight-forward game, quick too.

A good night overall, for those who were able to make it.
