Wednesday night board games - Plainville
« on: October 18, 2010, 12:46:28 PM »
Hello -

What are the current popular games on Wednesday nights? Anything in particular? Would anyone be up for some more thematic stuff (FFG games for example)? What time do things usually start up?

I have a good assortment of games that I could bring for anyone up for trying something.

Anthony, Rob (something) is in the process of organizing a Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night board gaming group in Plainville.  Currently, some board gamers and D&D players have been playing in the weekly Dungeons and Dragons Encounters game that starts at 7:00pm.

The few board gamers that come in currently seem to get here between 6 and 7pm and seem to play more traditional euro games.

I'm in favor of casual aka beer and pretzel type games.  I've done Carcassonne, Shadows Over Camelot, Agricola, Sitting Ducks, Bang, Apples to Apples, OOTs, Small World, Ticket to Ride, and almost anything that Jay has brought to BG Abington.

I own a handful of games such as BSG and Pandemic (just got, never played) and Agricola (thinking about getting expansion).

Can we actually have beer and pretzels?

I'd love that!

At least in Plainville, beer is tantalizingly close even if it is stupid expensive (Piezonis).

But back to gaming, I'd love to play Agricola again and would like to try some of the Catan games.

If you've got Arkham Horror, I'll play it.  Lovecraft is a religion.

We're starting up this week.  Going to start at noon.  Break for lunch between 5 and 6 and start up again at 6pm.  If you are looking to play a cetrain game, let me know and I'll see if we can bring them along.  I will have new titles with me (Dominant Species, Dominion Prosperity and Hansa Tuetonica).

I'm a boardgamer from CT and I recently moved here. I found this site and I'm planning on going to the Plainville store this Wednesday (12-23-10). I play mostly Euro-games and I'll bring whatever I still have in bag from gaming this weekend (Kingsburg, Agricola, Innovation, 7 Wonders, Stone Age and I may have a card game or two in there).

Do people actually show up for boardgames around noon or around 6-7? I'd be up for some all day gaming.

I'm pretty sure the Wednesday group will only be meeting once a month.  This Tuesday, 12/21, a larger group will be getting together at about 6:00pm to game.  They also play all kinds of Euro games.
