you mean blackpowder, right? 'cause it would be awesome to have a hessian/french/indian/anything else player.

I'd love if some folks would actually get into Blackpowder.  I'll gladly put together a Hesse-Casel force to squish those smelly buckskin and rag wearing rebels.

I was talking historical, but I am very intrigued by blackpowder,  and I would love to make and have an army from that era.  Might be a while to convince the wife that I should get more miniatures, but ill start working on her now :)

what minis are you using for the American Revolution?  Perry have the plastics for American Civil War and British line infantry, but not the colonial army.

what size game are you aiming at?  just so I can figure out buy in and painting time.

Perry has metal figs for the AWI period, Colonials, British, Hessian and Indian (Native American if you must).  They're more expensive of course, but are pretty awesome quality.  I'm probably going to place an order for some Hessians soon.  Have to see if BG can get them for me; if not there's always the 'net.  I believe Eureka does AWI also, but they may just be 15mm, not sure.  There are others of course, but Perry has usually been my preference.

I am going to try and stay as plastic, and cheap, as possible.   I was down in Gettysburg the other day and they had an awesome set of Civil War minis in a small little shop in the center of town.  If only people were doing civil war!

does anyone who has the book mind meeting up sometime in the near future?  preferably next week?

Thanks
Tim

hmmm I don't know of anyone doing plastics for Rev war.  Old Glory has 25mm AWI figs, and they aren't too bad in terms of price.

Civil War you say?  I'm down with that, it's my second favorite period to game (Napoleonics being first).  Johnny Reb 3 and Regimental Fire and Fury are excellent CW rules sets.

*sigh* If only I hadn't given all my figs away when I went into the Navy...gotta start all these armies from scratch again!

I could meet you at BG this coming week.  I'm normally there on Wednesdays for Flames of War, but I'm not sure if I can make it this Wed...but let me know what day is good for you and I'll see if I can get down with the book.

Sorry,  Ive been fairly limited lately and only been able to sneak out to play a couple times.

while my interest in a historical game is very high, I realize I am spending to much on gaming lately (which is the manly way to say my wife thinks I have been spending to much money on gaming lately) so I have to wait a bit before I can make any investments into a new game (rulebook, minis, ect...) so ill be waiting till Christmas for a new game.

but to double check with everyone,  it seems the interest in historical lies in black powder and beyond,  no one is interested in Warhammer ancient battles, or another ancient system?
