Quick questions...
« on: May 28, 2010, 12:55:51 AM »
what are the limitations of a squad when they embark from a rhino? can they move/shoot/assault?

also, as far as blood angels powers, if i used blood lance, may my librarian still assault same turn? the power is a psyker shooting attack with lance keyword.

thanks for the quick help!    :)

If the Rhino has moved at all that turn, they may shoot (counting as moving), but may neither move nor assault. They may also run. Note that they can even shoot if the Rhino moved a full 12".

If the Rhino has not moved, they may move, shoot (counting as moving), and assault as normal.

Note that these rules are altered somewhat for vehicles that are open-topped (assaulting is allowed even if the vehicle moved).

Codex > Main rule book.

Until changed by GW, blood angels vindicators do not have blasts.  The BA codex is clear about the vindicators and how they fire.

but i know ben used the big template on me from a vindicator, and the rulebook states that all ordinance weapons use the large blast template unless specified, which there is no not saying i do not get the large blast like another codex i read which clearly stated under an ordinance profile, "weapon x" does not use the large blast template.  the two vindicators have identical cannons and i doubt ben wouldnt know that...

can someone just explain how his can shoot the template if what trooper said is true?  cuz i would have never wasted 180 pts and 40 bucks on it if it didnt get a blast template. now im gonna have to cry myself to sleep thanks gw!

huh? 2d6 super lascannon? if it dont template then it dont scatter so its one stupid death shot. i wanted it to shave down the enemy for my small assaulting squads like death company to better handle things but if its a single shot my army has no use at all for it i can kill tanks on my own in other ways

1. Most Rhinos can move a max of 12". Any Rhino that is fast can move up to 18". The only fast Rhinos are out of the Blood Angels Codex.

2. Most Vindicators do use the large blast template. The Blood Angels codex does not indicate that it uses the large blast template however. Many people think that this is an accidental omission, but not everyone does, and some people think it doesn't matter if it was accidental or not. I would imagine that in friendly games, your opponent would allow you to use the large blast template. In the Hard Boys prelims, I allowed an opponent to do so. That said, not everyone would, and I wouldn't expect to at a tournament unless you've cleared it with the TO first.

this is my valid argument supporting that it does use the template: a. the space marine vindicator uses the template and all aspects are completely identical (even the fluff, lazy gw). b this is what the rulebook state for any weapon with the ordinance property:

unless their profile specifies otherwise, all ordnance weapons use the large blast templte.

this means that if the ultamarines do i do, our demolisher cannons are identical in every aspect and if ben has been using it wrong someone would have called him on it by now. thats just my logic
