Another Necron Question
« on: May 19, 2010, 02:33:23 PM »
Do you think they would let me use 3 necron destroyers in place of heavy destroyers and have them count as heavy destroyers? I figured I would try to save some money by just getting the batteforce and using those destroyers as heavy ones cus they look alike only noticable difference is the weapon... Im using this army for the doubles tourny if that would make a dif cus of a rule or something like that.

you can proxy if its a friendly game, or you could edit the model its self and make you own destoryers
i think that makes the game more fun

you can always stick 3 more green tubes in the gaus cannon i think thats the only major difference. i think itd be ok as long as you wrote which slot it takes up. but you may want to ask chase to double check, he runs stuff like doubles tournament

Generally Speaking Proxy won't fly in a tourney.  You can try to convert the destroyers but you have to make sure that its obvious at a glance that the models are not "destroyers" but rather "heavy destroyers"

Either way, you would have to ok it through Chase/Derek.  And most likely be able to bring the conversion in so one of them could inspect it.  Provided they even thought about allowing it.  But, you best bet is to just get the Heavy's and call it a day.  I know its not cost effective but its part of this game, you gotta spend the cash if you wanna use the units.  Especially in a game setting where you stand to win any kind of prize.

Please refrain from using proxy models in any tournament unless you have converted the model and it is CRYSTAL clear what the piece represents at a glance.

We really try to encourage people to own the models (and rules) they plan to use in the tournaments / events we run.
