Best advice, I can offer is take everyone's advice and pick and choose from that what you are going to use. What the old saying opinions are like something everyone has one.

It's ok to look at other forums. One of the armies I have recently started very few people play Tau. There are some great forums out there dedicated to that army alone. I've looked at them and taken some idea's myself. The best way to find what works for you is play as many games as possible and watch as many games as possible that use your army.

I played in a tournament in atlanta once with one of armies that has won a couple GW GT awards and I had a game were I barely won and it was because of a mission rule, but my opponent had decimated my army and at first I didn't think much of the army, and when it played it rocked. I have sincee built an army similiar to his using the same tactical base but different units. Best thing was my opponent was 12 and came in second in the tourney with close to 60 people in it  :)

That said if you think your wolf priest is only going to need 1 power a turn the master is a waste. There are some situations were it is a waste, if you cast your power and then charge into hth against a bunch of 1 wound model's there is nothing lost.

Try both see what works for you  ;D

Troy (Grimwulfe) is good with the wolves!

this is why i don't go to forums for warhammer advice.

This was so unbelievably funny, I didn't stop laughing until my wife actually had to come check on me...  :D

That would be why I go to forums precisely Alex, because I have yet to see a wolves player (besides Chris, who even then doesn't run it regularly so far as I've seen) to watch to help me.

Then we go to English class.

Going to forums like Warseer for help is fine (that's how I drastically changed my White Scars from a horrible list), but accepting what they say as infallible when someone presents an opposing idea isn't a good way to go about it.  I would trust people on this forum much more than people on Warseer.
It's the throwing phase now.

i was on the receiving end on occasion

I trust this forum more than Warseer, I just got faster replies and more of them through warseer and saw it better that I get multiple opinions rather than just those of people from BG. I based my changes off of what you guys have said but the smaller ones were from Warseer.

Why do you all hate warseer? It seems like they're the epitimy of idiocy and wrong to you guys haha.

Sometimes you should just accept the nerd rage.

They are a bunch of sycophantic idiots.  They encourage stupidity and bad habits.  Being from the internet can lend itself to those qualities but the mods there encourage it which is just plain bad news for anyone looking for actual criticism.  To quote one of the biggest manchildren in literary history "Bunch of phonies". I'll leave it at that.

Also, the great thing about the overall culture at BG is to play balanced lists.  So you don't have to do stupid internet lists to get a good game in.  Most of the games you play will be against the people in this community.  It's why you see things like Ian's Thousand Sons running around (lolwut) and Paul's Krieg's men.  The best advice I can give toward making a list is that you should make one that you enjoy, theme wise and gameplay wise, while thinking a bit about your opponent.   Sure, I could enhance my record, and thus my ego, of a completely random game by optimizing my Death Guard and curb stomping opponents but what fun is that?

Hm. I like wolves and started my base army list off of what I liked and didn't include things, even great suggestions for winning, that I didn't like or didn't think I'd enjoy playing, but at the same time, I want to win every game I play. I mix fun and winning. I like to win, but I know how to have fun.

I prefer the BG people everysecond over warseer, they aren't jerks who yell at me for mistakes like the warseer people.

Why are you buying 6 rhinos? That's just ridiculous.

6 rhinos + all plague marines = an easy button which can be seen from orbit.
