Off Topic: Star Wars Imperial Assault

Hey dudes, I figured this might be an okay spot to ask about this.  I know it's been mentioned before but it's launch date is drawing near...

Anyhow, I just got an email about... 7 minutes ago from my distributor letting me know that my cost on the game will be going up significantly because, "FG will not be selling on their website to end users, retailers or places like Amazon.com." A blessing and a curse, I suppose.

Because of the high price of the game, $99.99 MSRP, and my substantially increased cost on the item, I'd like to try to make sure I don't have a lot of extra copies sitting on the shelf forever.

If you're interested in picking up the game please let me know!!

This is tough one. I think the lack of response to your query dose not bode well for the game.  I find the price point too high. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have and play but I can only imagine that in addition the core your looking at another few hundred for the expansion packs. X-wing is hard on the wallet too the point that Santa needs, and I do mean needs, to bring me wave 5.

I am in the same boat - I would love to try this out, and see how it plays. But right now the price point is prohibitive. Love the look, the theme, and the models.

Here is a wild idea, could we reach out and get a demo copy? Perform a preview match? If it is awesome it will sell itself.  Thursday could be come x-wing and armada night

I'm sure Armada will do fairly well, even though the starter will also be 99.99.

I'm not sure what I think of Imperial Assault.  It's essentially Descent in the SW universe... Which to be fair, is worth a lot.

If one of the X-Wing guys are seriously considering picking up Imperial Assault just let Sam know and tell him I said it's okay to open it up and give it a shot before buying it.

Worst comes to worst, you all think it sucks and I sell it "used" at PAX.

Holy &@?$, I really need to expand my horizons and learn how to read words, no wonder I find the 18 page x-wing rule book so challenging. I saw the price 99.99 price tag and Imperial Assault = Armada.  Please understand your dealing with 119 pound French boxer who never wins...   My bad...

Imperial Assault looks good, but Armada has my attention first. I will no doubt be looking to pick up Imperial Assault eventually, but I don't know how soon that will be after launch, probably will have something to do with where it lands in relation to Armada. But I am 99% sure that I will be buying the game, just not sure at all when that will be.
