Player Point reference for The Hammer Blow
« on: September 28, 2013, 08:12:59 PM »
As requested, below are the point values that should be used for all Hammerblow games for the campaign. As always, if you think there's been an error please speak up so we can have it fixed as soon as possible. All numbers displayed after the name (name x#) should be representative of tiles owned on that planet. As a reminder, the points work like this: If you have less than 5 tiles on any planet then you are penalized 1000 points. If you have more tiles than anyone else on the planet then you receive an extra 1000 points. It is possible to have less than 5 tiles and still have the most tiles on a planet, in which case the bonus and penalty cancel out.  On all planets in which players were allowed to start (so not Polaris, Nitoris, Primaris A or Enif Station) if there are currently 4 or more players on that planet then the player with the second highest number of tiles also receives the bonus of 1000 points. Any bonus of 1000 points can be traded in for an additional asset. All players receive 1 asset in addition to their normal 3000 starting points.

Woah, back up, I have atile on Polaris. I had a standard army that was not challenged or defeated on tile 2 at the end of turn 10, that would make it captured by me, would this me incorrect?

Hey Jerry, I need to have Nick double check it but from what I'm seeing you should be correct. In which case you'd have 2000 points and one asset.

Why does Jerry have more points then me on Primis A? I though at least 5 squares were needed to get 3000?

"Players who have less than 5 tiles on a planet that has more than 5 tiles will be penalized 1000 points. It is possible for a player to be the highest or second highest ranked player on a planet and still have less than 5 tiles. In this case the bonus and penalty simply cancel out and the player receives 3000 points and one strategic asset."

I went and looked into it myself after seeing it.

Well I am the 2nd highest ranked player on the planet, so shouldn't I also get 3000?

The bonus to the second ranked player only applies when 4 or more people are on the planet.

Thanks Ian. It also needs to be a planet where players were able to start. Primaris A was specifically mentioned as one of the planets where that would not happen.

Ok well if that's the case I forfeit Primis A, it's impossible for a 2000 point army to even come close to beating a 3000 point army.
