space wolf army list question
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:20:24 AM »
Hey guys, i have a question. a week or two ago, i played a 500 point game against a SW player (your thunderwolves were boars, and i kept saying , HO THUNDER PIGS!, if you are reading this) either way, i was just thinking about this, and i believe he was drastically under points, this was his list

-priest guy (non character)
pretty sure he had living lightning or the auto cannon power

-venerable dreadnaught, multi melta, DCCM

5x grey hunters, melta, powefist

5x grey hunters, melta, powerfist

sorry for the vagueness, but i dont know the space wolf list that well. could any one tell me if this sounds like 500 points? And if you are reading this, thanks for the game, it was a great inauguration for my tau and a great game!

I don't have my SW on hand, but that looks right.

Seems like you saw a Rune Priest with Living Lightning, he's about 100 points.

The Venerable Dread likely cost ~175 points.

Grey Hunters kitted like that I think are about 125 points each squad, likely a bit less.

Actually, grey hunters cost 15 points each, a meltagun is only 5 points and a powerfist is 25 points, which sets each squad at 105, so that's 210 between both squads. The rune priest base is 100 points, so that's 310 total, plus the venerable dreadnought which sits at 165 which brings the full list to a total of 475. I have no idea what DCCM stands for, and considering I'm a spacewolves player that's bad I guess xD

In that case it's free for a DCCW and the point total is 475.

If it had terminator armor that costs an additional 20 points to bring it to 495, and then probably had melta bombs as well to make it an even 500, or wolf tail talisman on something like the dread or the priest.

They are completely different.

Talisman: If a model with a wolf tail talisman or the unit he is with is affected by an enemy psychic power, roll a D6. On the roll of a 5+ that power is nullified.

Wolf tooth: A model with a wolftooth necklace always hits on the roll of a 3+ regardless of comparative weapon skills.

I see what happened with my Calculations the Army Builder automatically added another unit when I included a power fist so I had squads with 6 grey hunters instead of 5.
