Best way to put metal minis together

Whats the best way? GW super glue just doesn't cut it.

I actually like the GW plastic glue (for plastic models obviously).  I find it bonds faster, and the substance itself is sticky enough to hold the pieces together by itself without you needing to hold it in place or use Zip Kicker.

For metal models, or any combination of metal and plastic, you're going to need a super glue of some sort.  I use Zap-a-Gap, but the GW brand should work just as well.  The key is to use the Zip Kicker on the metal pieces so that it bonds faster.  In case you didn't know, Zip Kicker is a spray that accelerates the glue to cure faster, literally in seconds.  You can pick that up at BG too.

Not every metal joint needs a pin (unless you are me) but for those that will take a lot of stress either because of weight or because they are the fulcrum of a large lever (ex. the shoulder of a lictor) usually benefit greatly from a pin.
The store has a pinning kit from GF9 that works great. Or you could just pick up a pin vice and then get some small bits, break off the back of the bits as pins (they aren't good for more than a few holes anyway).

Obviously the other replies are also very good. make sure the metal parts are clean. Sometimes scuffing with an exacto can help. Make sure the mateing area is as large as possible (ie no bumps in the way). And don't over-do the superglue. Zip kicker will help if you have trouble holding something still for long enough to get a good bond. Make sure you hold the joint for a few seconds after 'kicking' it though. We sometimes think of zip kicker as instant but it isn't.

Finally, some joints on some models will come apart later. Plastic cement on plastic models makes this unusual but on metal minnies it will happen from time to time.
