New player resources
« on: March 07, 2014, 11:52:06 AM »
From the discussion on the Vengeance release event it sounds like there might be some new players coming into the hobby and I figured a thread to showcase some good resources would be a good idea.

I just finished listening to the guys at Chain Attack, a Warmachine podcast, do four episodes for new players.  They go over the basics of the game and a brief overview of each of the factions and some good models to start with.  You can find the episodes for that here: http://www.chain-attack.com/category/newplayerseries/

Does anyone else have some good websites/articles that they would recommend for people starting the game?

Battlground is in the process of having some articles written up that introduces each faction to new players are takes a look at some of the models that make up the foundation of basic lists.

Here's hoping we can get the first one up in a couple weeks.

Battle College is good if taken with a grain of salt (as all things on the internet should be). Gives a break down for each of the model and units in the game.

I watched videos from GearJock (http://www.youtube.com/user/Gearjock/videos?view=0&flow=grid) when I was first starting out and there were a lot of good tips ... I especially liked that he illustrated the strategies with his own models since I tend to learn more visually.
