Trios tournaments are good, man.  We haven't had one in a while.

Trios tournaments are tough.  They're awesome in every respect, but they draw fewer people than normal.  As it turns out, it's difficult to get three people / friends together on the same day, all day.  When a group fails to nail down three people, or one of them has to drop, the whole team doesn't play.

There's 4 months left in 2013.  September will not have a 40k event at either location.  October will DEFINITELY have an event, probably earlier in the month, and I am currently heavily leaning towards a doubles event.  They're fun and tend to attract a bunch of people.

Abington is in the middle of a league that has solid attendance.  I've got to try to come up with some kind of event that I think might appeal to them.

I am definitely interested in more, casual (not very competitive) events that are easy to prepare.  I've got a couple of ideas and a very loose foundation for a league but I haven't dedicated the time to hammering out the details.

In a perfect world this will be a 40k packed fall / winter.

you have a point about Trios being hard to coordinate 3 people per team for the day, it's a shame there won't be a sept event but looking forward to the october one (if it's doubles please consider doing 2500)

as far as league play, that Vogen league you tried to do last year (or the year before?) seemed like a lot of fun and a LOT simpler than the one currently going on in Abington. It seems like the league they are doing now is fun but way too complicated and full of way too many book keeping errors and such.

heres hoping Plainville has enough intrest for a league in the future

Saturation and resetting.  Space Marines are released on the 7th and we've got our Bitz Bonanza in Plainville.

A lot of the tournament guys have been running pretty hard this summer gearing up for NOVA.  Our August event is the last day of the month.  Ideally I'd line up events on GW product release day (first Saturday of the month) whenever possible.  We've got an INSANE Magic month coming up and TotalCon Game Day on the 14th as well.  It just made a lot of sense to skip September tournament wise.  September is typically a large "transition" month for people as we go from summer to fall and back to school, etc.  People need small breaks.  :)
