Airbrush Washing

Hello and Yet again another Airbrush Question.Has anyone used Washes with an Airbrush and did you need to thin them out at all?

Washes run through airbrushes the way McDonalds runs through people.

The best thing I could mention about them is that you may want a pressure regulator as they go through FAST and it depends on what you are trying to do.

If you are looking to just coat a model, move quickly and try to be conscious about how much is coming out of the brush.

You don't need to thin them as they come out of both my Badger Patriot 105 and Badger Velocity just fine.

I am thinking if I start some tyranids priming and giving them a wash over white primer to give them a sort of Dark Fleshy tint.

Have you considered dipping?

Nope no clue what dipping is.

Dipping is when you take this stuff:



and dip a model in it.

The idea is that you dip the model into the solution, shake it off and then let it dry. The results can be really nice.

This is a marine I base coated in "Codex Grey" also known as "Dawnstone"



It was then dullcoated as the dipped model is very shiney after. For something biological like nids, a shiney sheen might be nice, from what I hear.

If you want to shade a lot of models quickly, dipping is a really quick way of doing it.

Washing out of an airbrish is the same as with a normal brush...   you will need to be careful of pooling but other than that washing via AB will work just fine.
