Plainville: Saturday Games and Painting?
« on: July 10, 2013, 10:13:13 AM »
Hey all,

I'm planning on heading down to Plainville on Saturday to (assuming Chase/Sam/Matt are ok with it) do some airbrushing, and possibly get a game in.  I'll have two airbrushes hooked up if you'd like to try.  Also, lemme know if you'd like to get a game in between paint coats :)

You should confirm if there are even going to be tables set up Brad. Those "magic" people are going to be there in force

Good to know.  Thooooose people.  Chase, any input?  Will there be 40k tables, and will there be a table near an outlet available?

Hey Brad, I'm also in the S&S campaign but do not have a game this week, so I'd definately be down to play a game with you.

Brad - Spencer and I have been watching tons of videos on painting and airbrushing....and here you are bringing the painting goodness to the store just at the right time. We're beginning to think you're the pied-piper of 40k!  :)  I believe we'l be there on Saturday!

Good to know.  Thooooose people.  Chase, any input?  Will there be 40k tables, and will there be a table near an outlet available?

This weekend space will be at a huge premium at both locations.  The new Magic Core Set Prerelease is this weekend and we basically run Magic tournaments from open-close all weekend.

In Plainville there will be a table or two until ~3pm.  At 4pm madness begins.  The event earlier in the day only sees 30-50 people, so it's not too bad.  There will not reliably be a table near an outlet that isn't swarming with Magic players.

In Abington it's a bit different, their biggest event (70-100 ppl) begins at 1pm on Saturday.  Your best bet as far as table space goes is to shoot for sometime after 6:30pm.  Their evening event sees ~40-50 and is a bit more manageable.

Pro tip:  Getting to Abington early (like 11am) on Saturday is probably wise if you're planning to claim space for the day.  Derek may be able to carve out a spot just for you.  Also, I'm not positive if they make use of the loft during Prereleases (there's only been 2 since the move), so that may be an option.

Pro tip 2:  It would be extremely helpful to communicate with Matt as much as possible about any sort of miniature gaming / modeling people have planned in Plainville this weekend.  For better or worse, I will be out of town.

Good to know on all counts.  I did not realize it was a prerelease event this weekend.  I will PM Derek and see if I can nab a spot at Abington, as that seems more likely.  Thanks for the tips!
