Not that it matters, what with the impending edition change, but Rage in 5th does not require the unit to charge. They have to move at top speed towards the closest visible enemy unit, if they run, they must run at top speed towards the closest visible enemy unit, and they must consolidate at top speed towards the closest visible enemy unit. They don't have to assault at all, and if they do, they don't have to assault the closest enemy unit.

I think the confusion often stems from Chaos Dreadnoughts and the Blood Rage result on the Crazed chart.

Re: AP3 power swords, There goes the usefulness of Eldar Banshees, one of the few worthwhile units they still had. I suppose it nerfs paladins a bit, too.

Yeah im not happy at all. Half my Ultramarine Sargents that have power weapons are nerfed. Terminator armor just got scarier cause thats one less thing that ignores the mighty 2+

I was thinking how AP 1 would work in CC and how it could clean up some things. Suppose AP 1 now just grants an extra d6 on armor penetration. (I don't know if it does, I'm just sayin'.) That describes chainfists and Monstrous Creatures exactly, and all we have to say is their attacks have AP 1. The extra damage AP 1 enjoys in 5th could stay or go, whatever.

Just thinkin' out loud, since no one at work plays or even understands why anyone would ever play...

My best friend and I get that all the time from out wives.....playing d&d together for a long long time.....

What I am really curious about is how AP1, AP2, and AP3 are going to interact with vehicles since they have special dice for them now.  PK are supposed to be the same as power fists, so this will not nerf my CC ability...but all the other changes are.

What I am looking forward to is how 6th interacts with bikes.  It is looking like the Ravenwing army is going to be pretty strong.

Hmm, I just had a thought that made me worry a bit...

All of these changes seem to make things MORE deadly, not less.  Vehicles can shoot more guns, stuff can do more different types of attacks, cover saves and feel no pain do less.   Everything will result in more death.

Since turns still aren't integrated, won't this make going first even more important?   I hope not...  sigh... I guess we'll start finding out in 2 days :)
