New Empire... seriously!?
« on: April 12, 2012, 01:57:41 AM »
Sense I got interested in Warhammer (fantasy and 40k) this is the THIRD Empire book.... but my first army, the noble and brave Bretonnians are still on the same book they had.  I got started about 4 or 5 years ago.  Seriously, GW, enough with the Empire.  I love them but there are other armies out there that in more need for an update!

i don't think making the brets and wood elves wait a little longer for their release is a bad thing. look at the dark eldar. i remember their last book coming out in early 2000's, waiting for years, and then getting literally the hottest release i've ever seen (granted i've only been playing since 1999). proof that a long awaited, well-done release of an underdog army is a good thing imo.

That is very true, just wish we knew when the new Brets would be coming out.  I really want to buy and build them but I hate building an awesome army only to have the new codex/army book come out a few months later and completely gutting what I built.  I'm so very much talking about the IG codex here, still upset about a lot of the changes in it!  LOL

well chances are if you build an army centered around 2-3 knight buses, a peasant roadblock, treb or 2, some bowman and fast cav, your army won't be "gutted." except for the addition of trebs and peg knights, the core of bret armies hasn't changed much since their 5th ed book. if you build an army around a gimmick like the bret "RAF," you stand much more of a chance of being stuck with something unusable than if you just build a balanced force.
