Magnets for troops
« on: August 15, 2011, 10:47:14 AM »
Just wondering what sized magnets everyone uses for troops, i've used some larger ones i ordered from K&J for my Dreads and Land Raider and they work fine. I have some 1/8" X 1/16"s from BG that are just a little too large for troops, so i went to BG yesterday and got some 1/16"X 1/32 and tried those but they don't seem powerful enough.

just wondering what everyone else uses for backpacks and arms

thanks

I believe I introduced you to Chris on Thursday, and Chris magnetizes everything. He's not on the forum, but wrote back to me in an e-mail.

Quote
Diameter 0.125" (3.2mm)
Thickness 0.063" (1.6mm)

You can definitely get thinner ones though.  These ones are a bit bulky for marines and better suited for the crisis suits.  The diameter works perfectly though.

So that's one vote for 1/8" by 1/16".

Thanks Ben (and Chris),

Yah i've no idea what these 1/16", 1/32 ones are good for because they don't seem powerful enough to hold anything, i'll get some 1/8th ones.

and congrats Ben on your Daemon performance in the tourney... even if they ARE evil

I use the 1/16 for syuff like the heavy bolter and multi melta on attack bikes you could also use them to interchange weapons on infantry but thATS  going a little far imo

Sadly, the distributor who carries the magnets we stock (or used to stock) is in the process of changing things up.  I have no idea what sizes or amounts will be available to us in the future.

Abignton has (had?) them, yeah.  As far as the bigger sizes go, I'm not sure if we can get them or not.  When I tried to restock last week I was told I couldn't get any of the sizes I wanted because they were "undergoing changes in packaging" and he didn't know when they would be available.
