Starting on this thursday at 6pm, there will be a mordheim league starting up if anyone is interested. For those of you who are not in the know, it is a skirmish-scale version of warhammer fantasy. A warband can be started (and mostly finished) on a unit box from the fantasy range, but there is also models for each warband on the gw site, which the store can obtain for you. The rulebook is free under the specialist games section at games-workshop.com
The league will be set up as a casual play with a points system. You start with the standard size warband, of which you can choose any there is literature to prove the point costs for (there are official gw bands in the rulebook, then a few that are popular, yet unofficial). The league would go for 5-10 weeks depending upon interest and other details. Each week you will be able to play 3 opponents which count toward the "win-loss point system" and your warbands progress. Other than those three, only wins and losses are counted and the same person cannot be played twice in one week.
This is the points system:
Played a game +1
killed the opposing warband leader +1
Won by scenario +3
won by routing +2
A player must play the same warband in order to keep the same points, however, a second warband may be started upon achieving 110 points. A third may be started at 25 points. At any time you can make a new warband and lose all current points (ie start over).
Playing is free to all, and all expirience and new players are very welcome and encouraged. Games take roughly 30 min. or less.
