Imperial Guard HQ Question.
« on: March 16, 2011, 11:49:53 PM »
Just another quick question. If i choose to have the company command squad as my HQ and I pay the 35 points to add a lord commisar does that mean I have 2 HQ's or since hes joining the squad just one?

Thank You,
NGazerro

Lord Commisars cost more than 35 points.

Despite where everyone ends up, they are separate choices. They will take up two slots.

When you choose to purchase a commissar for 35 points, you are adding a regular commissar to the unit.  The Lord Commissar is a completely seperate HQ choice that is a single model and IC, where the Commissar in the CCS is not an IC.

Ya I actually made a mistake.... the Company Command Squad cant add a Lord Commisar. They can add Creed, Kell, Strake and Deddog. It says you may replace the company commander with one of them, and in doing so wouldnt that make it one HQ instead of 2?

When you buy a COS you purchase the 5 man unit.   With this you get a commander and 4 vets.   When you are talking about Creed and Straken you are replacing the commander with creed or straken.  This means you pay 50 points PLUS the cost of the HQ upgrade.   I am not totally sure about Kell and Norm but I believe you purchase them like you would purchase a bodyguard, adding those models for the point cost stated.   Ask me if I don't look busy tonight and I will try to answer any questions you might have

Thanx, the reason why I am asking is because for the doubles tourny u can only have 1 HQ. But someone said have the COS and replacing the commander with Kell or Creed is still being considered 2 HQs.

If the model belongs to the command squad as an upgraded character or special characters, and they are in the same entry, then they only use a single hq choice.  Like if you take straken in a command squad, thats one choice, not two.
.....and then scooby said to shaggy, "GHOST?!?!?!?!"
