I'll play whatever you want to play, Dave.  I've played against Daemons before, and they can be nasty.  And as for your Death Company, I'll have to throw another diversion at them to keep them preoccupied until my Bikers are in Firing Squad formation.

Maybe another empty Drop Pod will do...   ::)

nah the daemons are in boxes where they belong. order is where its at anyways. daemons dont have death company, the strongest troops around and proud of it  ;)

maybe my partner from doubles will come and we can get our vengeance for 19th place  :'(

Dave, if you're interested in playtesting or just using a Land Raider for a game, I don't mind lending you one of mine if you don't have one already.  Might be good for you see how they work for you in combat, if you haven't used one yet.  Just an FYI...

I'm actually giong to be at Battlegrounds a lot earlier that expected (about noon). I'll play an apoc game with you even if the others can't make it. If they can I'll be happy to play a 2vs2 apoc game.

to ben:
the rhino never worked out good so i converted it into a land raider-like tank. if you want to lend one sure thing though.

to ed:
as far as the troops i have seen, they are certainly stronger, which is why they pay for it by having the black rage. they have ws5, furious charge, a 3+ save, feel no pain, relentless, access to all the good close quarters equips, plus discount jump packs.  comparing them stat-wise to any other troop choice they are superior. tactically speaking is a different story entirely now...

to serring:
i can be there almost all day if you want to do some games either teamed vs ben or just vs me. i have 2000-2500 pts.

i dont know why people dis death company so heavily. theyre really strong and resilient, (just because im the only person who heavily uses them and im not an expirienced general) doesnt mean that when used properly they cant be a force. so maybe they arent perfect, but theyre strong and i can never let them go, theyre the reason i decided to play 40k, it best fits my play style (big in melee, if i get there)  ;D

as for bikers... damn you bikers and your t5!!!!! (ed, if you havent noticed the vows for vengeance against ben's bikers)

Dave, I'm not trying to disrespect the Death Company at all.  I just think they're an expensive non-scoring Troop choice.  It may be because of how much you invest in them being the issue with your list.  Granted, it's been awhile since I've played you, and you have probably tweaked it around to make it more efficient, but like what Mike said earlier about the Land Raiders, if you're going to invest so much into 1 (or a few) expensive NON-SCORING units, then you're going to have very little of everything else.

To help illustrate this point, take this list for example.

HQ:
Space Marine Captain                        100 Points

Troops
Tactical Squad                                 170 Points
Tactical Squad                                 170 Points

Elites
Terminator Squad                              200 Points
Terminator Squad                              200 Points
Terminator Squad                              200 Points
 - Dedicated Transport: Land Raider      250 Points

Heavy Support
Land Raider                                      250 Points
Land Raider                                      250 Points
Land Raider                                      250 Points

That list adds up to 2290 points, 340 of which are scoring.  Now I know this is a bit of an exaggerated example (since I don't know anyone who'd ever play 4 LR's in a non-Apoc list), but you can see how daunting it can be when you have fewer scoring units than more.

Again, don't let that discourage you from playing Death Company though.  For what it's worth, I believe you have a strong cause in making them the ULTIMATE NON-SCORING TROOP UNIT!  *LOL*  :D

@Dan: I sent an email out to you, Anthony, and Bryan about our Apoc game.  Did you happen to get it yet?

@Ed: Haven't had to the pleasure of playing against Ork Bikes before.  Looking forward to it!

Aren't they the only non-scoring troops? I agree with your view-point on bikes.

Ahhh... So much for our Apoc game.  Maybe Dan and Ed wouldn't mind going 2-on-1.

See you guys later!
