The Battleground Abington Community Escalation League is a 8 week event that will take players from 12 points to 50 while they rack up points for community participation, victories on the battlefield and painting! This league is run by and for the Warmachine/Hordes community to get new and veteran players meeting new people and growing their armies!

When: The first week of the league officially kicks off on Monday, August 26th and will last 8 weeks.
Where: Battleground Games and Hobbies
1423 Bedford Street, Abington MA 02351 (781.261.9669)
Entry fee: $5. 100% of entry fees will go to prizes!

League Summary

Scoring

Upon entry, each player will get a score sheet that will be kept in a binder behind the counter. After each game or when you finish painting a model, fill it out using this handy table! The player with the highest total at the end of the league will be our champion!

League Rules

Prizes

Prizes will scale with attendance. Winners will receive store credit good for anything from the Warmachine/Hordes stock ONLY. We want to see our champion keep investing in the game and community!

Schedule

Important Days: Every Monday during the league is a painting night. Basically, a bunch of dudes get together and paint. If you haven't been to any of the ones at old BG, you can expect a lot of fun. You have people cracking jokes, talking tactics, and swapping painting techniques. Also, there's nothing like peer pressure to keep you on track with painting goals! Additionally, though games can be played whenever you like, Thursdays are the easiest day to walk in and get a game.

This is pretty basic, but I figured I'd put it here for future use and for anyone who wants specifics. Its important to note that I do not have a terrain day scheduled yet. Since it requires a fair amount of time and effort, its something to coordinate after sign ups. Check here for future details!

Week One (8/26 - 9/1) - 12 points
- Painting Night on Monday, 8/26 at 6:00 pm.

Week Two (9/2 - 9/8) - 12 points
- Painting Night on Monday, 9/2 at 6:00 pm.

Week Three (9/9 - 9/15) - 25 Points
- Painting Night on Monday, 9/9 at 6:00 pm.

Week Four (9/16 - 9/22) - 25 points
- Painting Night on Monday, 9/16 at 6:00 pm.

Week Five (9/23 - 9/29) - 35 points
- Painting Night on Monday, 9/23 at 6:00 pm.

Week Six (9/30 - 10/6) - 35 points
- Painting Night on Monday, 9/30 at 6:00 pm.

Week Seven (10/7 - 10/13) - 50 Points
- Painting Night on Monday, 10/7 at 6:00 pm.

Week Eight (10/14 - 10/20) - 50 points
- Painting Night on Monday, 10/14 at 6:00 pm.

That's about everything I can immediately think to cover. We had a lot of people sort of bummed about how short the last Privateer Press league was coupled with an influx of new faces. I'm really excited to see everyone jump into their factions, get to know new players, and get involved!

If anyone has any questions, Rich Bourque (the_trooper) and I are running this thing. Feel free to shoot either of us a PM or post here.

Looks good!

I'm very interested in the terrain days.  If they're not Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or during a Pats game, I plan to be there.

Hai, doodz. There's been a few questions thrown at me I figured I'd answer here.

1. You can only score models you worked on during the league. I'm not going to do forensics or something, but don't be a dick. Also, when you finish up a model be sure to show me or Richid before scoring it.

2. The "Painting Night" score track on the league sheet is for participating in the Monday painting nights at the store. Showing up to those is the only way you can score it.

3. The first Terrain Day is getting organized. I'll post more info soon.

Thursday, after my brain has been broken and battered by irritating integrals, I will do my best to spread the misery. Lord Exhumer Scaverous and his shambling hordes will be on the march!

oddly enough I have this thing called a weekend off. Saturday I will be doggey sitting so i doubt he will be allowed in the store no matter how well behaved he is. I will swing by after if any one wants a game.

The league is over and the points have been tallied: Rob Sims is our league champion! Aside from a truly insane number of games played, Rob made it to every single painting night and terrain day! Not to mention, nearly filled in every box of the painting matrix. Congratulations!

I've been asked a number of times the last few weeks about another league. Something sweet will definitely be happening, though I wouldn't expect another league until the new year. In the mean time, Sean has organized a sweet Foodmachine event for November that I think everyone would really enjoy.

Thanks for playing, dudes! It was a blast!
