Title: Plainville Warmachine!
Post by: MightyBooshy on April 16, 2013, 01:22:11 AM
So I figured instead of posting a new thread every week, we should just use a single thread for discussing Plainville Warmachine/Hordes.

Currently the night to play has been Tuesdays, with a pretty decent amount of people.

I'll be there on Tuesday, probably between 6 and 7 looking for games. We need a little cross pollination between stores.

I hope not. My marriage can't last another loss in a mini game.  :'(

Does anybody know the deal with the Mage Hunter Infiltrators?  They might be my favorite models period.

They are new. Sneaky unit that can kill casters.

They're a unit that's getting mixed reviews lately. Well, most people think they're somewhere between okay and awesome, but there's an entrenched faction out there that thinks they're redundant.

They're fast, hard to hit, have two attacks apiece and totally smoke warcasters, warlocks and other magic users. They're pretty solid and they look awesome. The only drawback is that they're in a faction that already has a lot of blue chip infantry and lacks the warcaster support to put them over the top.

Word on the street is Eiryss3 will be this unit's unit attachment. Unless they totally botch her, these guys are going to be awesome.

Hey, plainville warmachiners, it looks like me schedule might be starting to clear up some, and i might be able to get a night off, so two questions. Which night is the most active warmachine/hordes night? It sounds like tuesday is the night to be there, but i thought i heard somewhere that friday was also becoming popular? Any clarification on which night sees more traffic would be awesome because i would hate to change my schedule all around only to find that everyone changed the night they attend. Also, as some people may have noticed, i have recently become obsessed with convergence of cyriss, and i would love to get some practice games in with them. The problem is that as i was not able to attend L&L, i have no models =P. I have the complete rules, and i have made dummy cards with accurate damage grids for the vectors. would any one be up for some proxy games assuming i can make it down? Thanks either way, can't wait to be back!

Tuesday is the better of the two nights, mainly because there's always a few people there with stuff looking for games.

Friday nights see 1 or 2 people + a group of 4 to 5 friends (occasionally).  As far as I know, that group doesn't use these boards so it's hard to know if they'll be in for sure or not.  When they come, they are usually there for 5+ hours and play the entire time.  Super nice guys too.

Yeah a bunch of us decided to start playing tuesday night as it was the most convenient weeknight to play that didn't disrupt Battlegrounds other events (FNM, Warhammer on Thursdays, DnD on Wednesdays).  Also the fact that most of our Fridays were usually busy meant that Tuesday was an ideal night.

That being said, I might actually be free tonight, and might be at the store with my models(i'll know in an hour or so).  Also I wouldn't mind playing against a convergence proxy army.  Just FYI War room has some of the cards available, so you might be able to build a list and manage it in there as well.

Okay, so tuesday it is. Also, is war room computer compatible? or do you need a smart phone? thirdly, thanks booshy, i will try to make it down this tuesday with some 25 point lists! Thanks for the help!

Okay, so im definitely going to be making it down tuesday with 25 points of convergence, my ride means i will be there pretty early (around 4:30 ish). Anyone else think they can make it?

I'll probably be there closer to 5:30, but I am very excited for a game against convergence.

I have a free Tuesday and a very basic understanding of the rules, so I'll be making my way in tonight to wander about and pick up the Fenris they have waiting for me.

In case anyone interested is reading this and not the FB group, Tuesday nights, Friday nights, and especially Sunday afternoons are seeing a large amount of WM/H play lately.

Tuesdays see 8-10 players
Fridays see ~6-8 over the night
Sundays see 10-16

Also, Thursdays see 2-4 as well.
