So is there anyone out there that can help me spec out and build a new gaming PC? I have 700.00 to throw at it and store credit to pay you for your time if you build it. Please let me know through PM or my email. michaeljsalzman@gmail.com

Looks at my installation made last night of Command & Conquer, which is now freeware... I presume you'd like to run something made since 1995?... Actually, I just walked into a good question. What would you like to play, what are your expectations?
-
well you don't have to pay me but
www.ibuypower.com
its an ok site if you want a prebuild gaming pc and get a warranty so someone will fix it for you. Unlike building your own where you'd have to fix it.

thanks guys... I got a lot of help from a bunch of folks yesterday. So now its down to finding the right parts and buying them... I think I am going with something like this....

Vengeance Series 8GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Memory Modules)
GV-R685OC-1GD AMD Radeon HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card

Honestly, you don't really need eight gigs of RAM. I have six, on a laptop with integrated graphics, and I barely use more than half of it. Unless you're getting a spectacular deal on it, I'd drop down to four.
Also, price out some solid state drives for your OS. Keep the Caviar Green, and try to get a smallish SSD for your OS and your most commonly used games. This 64 gig Samsung one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147133) is pretty highly rated on Newegg and comes in at 109 dollars (a bit more than some of the others, admittedly), and it will really help you boost how fast your computer runs and especially boots. I've heard of people booting to a usable desktop in seconds with an SSD.

gettign a great deal on the 8 gigs of ram. and Yes i will be using a two Hard disk system with a smallish SSD HD for the OS and a 1 T HD for the rest.

For consumer SSDs I would only ever buy intel. They are the only brand with both high performance and rock solid reliability. I been using SSDs for personal use since the Intel x-25M G1 and would not use anything besides Intel, I was an initial adopter of a sandforce drive and got burned bad.
I would also wait to purchase hard drives, until later this year when the market has recovered from the flooding in Thailand.

I am not quite sure you would be able to get the ultimate gaming rig with that budget but if you are fine by getting just the core units and just make do with what you have originally, you can relatively pull it off.
Though if you can buy some more time, you are better of waiting for the release of the ivy bridge processors that are to take advantage of the idea of having a powerful but energy efficient machine.

Well budget has been increased to 1100.00

You should consider having a mother board with pci express 3.0
Even if you get a moderate level 2.0 card it will still work and you can later get a 3.0 card. Do not go to crazy with RAM. Asus makes great boards. Also, if you want me to build you a pc I can do it I studied IT and have built multiple computer rigs. I would be happy to build you something which I can do easily on a Saturday and bring it on an agreed upon day.
My name is Mike.
I am at the store every Wednesday for Pathfinder, most Thursdays, every Friday to learn Magic, almost every Saturday - unless I am building someone a computer -, and Sundays.
Let me know and I would be glad to help. Do not worry about giving me store credit or any sort of payment. I would enjoy helping out the community when it is reasonable possible. And in this case it is.
