RULES FOR THE SHATTERED GROUND LEAGUE
The comprehensive rules for all Shattered Ground Leagues can be found here. (http://privateerpress.com/files/2011%20Shattered%20Grounds%20League%20Rules.pdf)
The rules specific to the Rotterhorn League Season can be found here. (http://privateerpress.com/files/rotterhorn_Rules_2.pdf)
It is HIGHLY recommended that each interested player read through BOTH rule sets so that everyone playing in the league is familiar with how everything works.
Additionally:
The Rotterhorn Story Line can be found here. (http://privateerpress.com/files/rotterhorn_Story.pdf)
...and the Rotterhorn specific characters (stat cards that replace certain units) can be found here. (http://privateerpress.com/files/rotterhorn_Cards.pdf)
Rule Books:
The Warmachine Prime MkII and Hordes Primal MkII Rules will be used.
The following is a list of legal army choices:
Cygnar
The Protectorate of Menoth
Khador
Cryx
Retribution of Scyrah
Mercenaries
Trollbloods
Circle Orboros
Skorne
Legion of Everblight
Minions
MODELS AND POINTS:
1. League games can be played at 15-, 25-, 35-, 50-, 75-, 100-, 125-, 150, and 200-point levels
2. Players must agree on the point level at which their game is to be played.
3. Players participating in the league must bring their own models, stat cards, dice, measuring devices, tokens, markers, and templates required for play.
4. Players must cooperate with their opponent to resolve effects. Refusing to do so is explicitly unsportsmanlike.
HOW THE LEAGUE WORKS:
• Players represent a single faction (Cygnar, Protectorate of Menoth, Khador, Cryx, Retribution of Scyrah, Mercenaries, Trollbloods, Circle Orboros, Skorne, Legion of Everblight, or Minions). An online map will keep track of faction victories of players world-wide.
• Battleground will track the position of each player participating in the league on a scoreboard called the ladder. The first five games a player plays each week earn him league points, and these determine a player’s standings on the ladder. Players can continue playing games after reaching their maximum for the week, but additional games will not earn league points.
• League games may be played at any time during the week.
• You may not play the same person twice in back to back games.
• The default game for the Rotterhorn League at Battleground will be 35 points.
• The number of league points a player scores for playing a league game depends on the size of the game, the scenario, and the outcome of the game. The following table provides the base number of league points a player earns for playing a game of a given size. All players earn the listed number of battle points for simply completing the game. Players can also earn bonus points as defined in the rules for individual scenarios. See the individual scenarios for additional information on the bonus points that players can earn.
Game Size Battle Points Bonus Points
15-point game 2 1
25-point game 3 2
35-point game 4 2
50-point game 5 3
75-point game 6 3
100-point game 8 4
125-point game 9 4
150-point game 11 5
200-point game 13 5
• Controlling map territories grants map bonuses to the controlling faction. See the league rules for the details of each map location.
• During each league game, players can choose one territory that their faction controls to “supply” their army in that game. They gain the benefits listed under any map bonuses in that territory for that league game. (Note that a faction might not control any map locations at a given time and that not all map bonuses will be useful to all factions.)
• Each game will be played on a 4' x 4' board.
• When players agree to play a game, the player with the lowest position on the venue’s league ladder chooses the territory where the game will be played. After the game, players submit their earned league points to the League Organizer for tracking on the ladder. In a 35-point game or larger, the winner must also submit their territory and faction to the League Organizer so that the League Organizer can put that information into the global map.
• Commendations - Player's participating in the Rotterhorn League can earn Commendations for various things. Please consult the Shattered Ground Rules for details on how these are handled. Details on the Commendations themselves can be found in the Rotterhorn Rules.
• Stratagems - Stratagems are special abilities that are unlocked in a player’s battle journal as they play games and earn commendations. Please consult the Shattered Ground Rules for details on how these are handled and the Rotterhorn Rules for what each Stratagem does.
• Each league season features new stories from Privateer Press staff writers. The link to these stories can be found here (http://privateerpress.com/files/rotterhorn_Story.pdf).
During the Shattered Grounds league season, players have the opportunity to play some of the characters, warjacks, or units found within these stories. The rules for these season models can be found here (http://privateerpress.com/files/rotterhorn_Cards.pdf). (Both links are also found under the League Rules heading above)
During a league season, the original models on which these season models are based cannot be used. Moreover, these models count as if they are the models on which they are based for bonuses, such as those granted by the Elite Cadre ability, Leadership ability, or Theme Force benefits.
BATTLES:
Scenarios for the Rotterhorn League can be found at the end of the Shattered Ground Rules.
What You Need to Bring with you to the League:
-Your (hopefully painted) miniatures
-Rulebooks and any additional books you need
-Pen and paper
-Dice and templates
-Tape measure
-Something to transport your army from table to table
League Awards will be announced later and will be based on the number of players that participate in the league.

Just FYI chase, For these leagues, there is a "standard" game size that is the default, both players must agree to play something other than standard if they want to. Usually its 35 or 50.
-
Yeah, it says 50 points in the rules but I got rid of that because a lot of the guys either don't have 50 points they would want to field, or are unfamiliar with 50 point games.
I'll add something in about 35 point games being the standard.
Thanks for the heads up.

Pre-reg.
-
Cool character cards! I like the agonizer a lot.
-
buy magic cards off me so i can play in this
-
Definitely want in, Im pretty sure doug will as well. Should we just come in and talk to you chase to register?
-
Yup, either that or talk to someone in Abington as that is where the league will take place.
Whatever is easiest or most convenient for you works for me.
Also, who are you, Krol Blade (other than an old school WoW BoE epic rogue sword).

How the hell do you know that?
-
Because I played vanilla WoW more than anyone else on earth.
-
Im doug's friend Ben. My last name is Krol hence the name. aka the guy who just bought a crap ton of khador stuff. aka the guy whos gonna roll over bitches with his khador stuff!
-
Because I played vanilla WoW more than anyone else on earth.
That is a bold statement. Very bold.
-
Too bold to be possible.
-
Why does it start on a Monday?
Also, yay! Finally 50pt games! :)
-
That's just when the PP league period begins. Our first Thursday meeting will kick it off.
-
I'm furiously painting so the Trolls will look good while ambushing all the fools stupid enough to head into their territory. Everythings primed....putting brush to model is the time consuming part.
-
I wish you'd set one up about 5-6 months ago so I could play in it there. I still haven't found a decent substitute.
What I really need is to go to Boston on loan so I can spend a week playing up there.
-

Sign me up, and I think my 45+ days played in vanilla wow is pretty up there in time played butty
-
I know a guy who had 86 days played in vanilla WoW on one character, in 2005.
-
Day's played.... Uggh... I don't want to talk about it.
-
I played wow so much I'm trapped in the Internet, that's how I became a troll.
-
Wait, that's how you became a troll? I just thought you drank too much paint thinner.
-
The league seems to be off to a great start. I'm glad the Abington crowd dove right into it.
We had 12 players for the first league night and were absent some of our regular Thursday crew. A 15 or 16 person league is pretty impressive. I'm a pretty happy camper right now. :)
Yay Warmahordes!!
-
It was a great night. Hopefully, I got all my horrific losses out of my system. As silly as they are, I had a lot of fun working on commendations.
-
I gotta admit my first game of league was one of my favorite games, I didn't think it was going to turn out the way it did!
-
CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Doug!
-
DAVE GOSS
bars been raised folks!
-
Has anyone new joined the league since last week or coming down from plainville for Thursday? Like idk... Maybe Edward!
If you play circle, you are probablly at this point garaunteed 5 games Thursday...
-
This week, I would love some games against Circle, if Jared is available. I've barely played against them this edition.
-
Kind of think of it... Is Kieth the only regular circle player at bg?
C'mon down for the league mr popular you just got signed up for about 6-8 games ;D
-
Yeah, I think outside of one game against Jared in the last year, he's the only one I've played. Weird. I should start them.
-

I doubt you'll see anyone from Plainville. Ed has been MIA for a while, presumably due to lacking the gas to get there / here.
Getting laid off out of nowhere sucks.
-
I think you would like circle a lot Ian, Goss, not so much. But for the same reason!
Circle is like Cryx, except without the bullshit casters/banes.

Yeah, dude. I seriously have a full page of iBodger lists for them. Maybe at the end of the summer. So much mobility!
-
I bought like half of a morvhana list and kromac, then double D started looking at they and now I'm playing the waiting game, hopefully he will go away so I can make it rain forests on da hoes.
Hoes love forests I hear.
-
Oh, then I'll wait for you to stop liking them.
-
History states that you'll be waiting roughly 47.8 hours, Ian.
-
Actually I think cryx is the longest I've ever played a single list/deck/character/etc of anything of anything. So I'd say like... 36 hours after I actually play them.
-
Circle is too advanced for you Goss. Stick with eGaspy and eDenny.

is there a like button here?
-
Biggest league night yet. We might need to reserve all the tables next week so everyone can play.
-
Anyone else gonna be getting the New Painted Battlegroup stamp before this thing ends?
-
I'm getting it, but for my battle engine.
-
I will. TRIUMPH will bring me some sort of self affirmation.
-
I am soon, I just got 3 new casters and soon some more stuff and it's all painted! I'm soooo proud of myself, my mom tried to hang it all on the refridgerator.
