In a few months Warhammer: Age of Reckoning comes out and I know some of us at the store are going to start it, either because we're looking for a new MMO or because we're fans of the game.  You may want to wait to see about that.

I'm thinking of getting back into WoW.  The Yankee frugality in me hates the idea of paying to play a game after the initial purchase.  Guess we'll see.  I know a lot of others used to play it.  Have the sneaky suspicion they have been drawn away to other games.

I haven't really followed it at all.  I've seen the pre-order box in stores but that's about it.  I hope it is good...certainly took them long enough.

Well it's better than the 40k roleplaying game.  They missed their original mark by about 20 years.

Squig herder you say.  But what if I want to be a Squig hopper?  Actually, it does sound interesting.  What's the price point and then monthly outlay?

actually, I've heard it's going to be 5 dollars less than normal, at least from context reading on a thread about it.  So like $10 a month?

Not too shabby at all.  Not as affordable as some MMOs out there (Guild Wars = FREE...wish the player base was there) but still decent.  Probably do a discount for pre-paying for 6 months or a year maybe.

Here's a WoW question for you WoW fanatics.

Is it possible, and if so how, to find out what server someone is on based on their name?  A co-worker gave me their name and what region they're in but they don't know what server they're on.

Kind of, Jon.  You can look up everyone with a given name and then figure out which of those servers are where (eastern time, etc).

Google the word "Armory" and, if nothings changed, it'll be the first link.

For instance my brother plays the character Elmdor.  If you search the armory for Elmdor you'll see everyone with an active account who has a character names Elmdor so long as that character is level 10 or higher.  Without knowing which server he is on it will be hard to figure out which character is actually his.

Any other details help of course, like what level the character is, his race, class, guild, ect.

In Cale's case its an Undead Warrior in The Dark Carnival on Eonar.

Bringing this full circle to WoW I believe, maybe, the original intention of the thread was to post character names, servers, and locations.  But, I'm probably wrong.

Just in case I got back into the game and here's my current character.

Viktrious - Blood Elf Mage Level 9 (almost 10) - Silvermoon City - Greymane

You can preorder Warhammer from Gamestop or most other sites.  Preordering gets you into the beta, and also lets you start playing the game a couple days before the actual release.
